Dialysis

What Is Dialysis?

Dialysis is a life-extending treatment that removes waste, toxins andexcess fluid from blood to help people thrive with end stage renaldisease (ESRD).

What is in-center Hemodialysis?

Hemodialysis (HD) is a treatment for kidney failure that occurs at end
stage renal disease (ESRD), also called stage 5 chronic kidney disease
(CKD).
It’s a process in which your blood is filtered outside your body through
a dialyzer or “artificial kidney” to remove unwanted waste, toxins and
excess fluids. The cleaned blood is then returned to your bloodstream.
Hemodialysis is offered in-center during the day but. our centers all
offer nocturnal (night time) treatments, too.

What are the benefits of Hemodialysis?

All your treatments, labs and checkups are done in one place. There’s
no need to store dialysis equipment or supplies at home.
You can use your dialysis time to read, rest, work on your computer,
watch TV, listen to music or do something else that you enjoy.

What Is Peritoneal Dialysis?

Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is a treatment for kidney failure that uses the
lining of your abdomen to filter waste from your blood. The process
gets its name from the lining of your abdomen, which is called the
peritoneum. This lining is a membrane that surrounds the space called
the peritoneal cavity. k on your computer,

What are the benefits of Peritoneal dialysis (PD)?

You can do peritoneal dialysis (PD) at home without assistance while still having regular monitoring and a 24/7 on-call PD nurse via phone.

There are no needles used. PD treatments are generally painless.

You have the flexibility of making your own schedule. Plus, you can do PD almost anywhere at work, at home and while traveling.

All youneed is a space that is well lit, clean and indoors.
